Don Hyatt's Family Album
Charlotte K. Hyatt, Mother
Mother was born of George C. and Mary E. Walling in 1918, and lived in
the Washington DC area all her life.
Her father was a commercial artist and founded the Walling Process, once
the largest silk screen printer south of Philadelphia. She was trained
as a commercial artist and assisted in the family business which
was located adjacent to Union Station.
Mother was very creative, and enjoyed building clever things out of
ordinary junk. She used her artistic talents in painting, quilting,
carving duck decoys, and in almost any endeavor. She loved to laugh
and her family enjoyed her wonderful sense of humor..
Mother died in 1992 after a long bout with lung cancer.
She raised three boys, Glenn E. Hyatt, Donald W. Hyatt, and George
W. Hyatt. She was my best friend.
