Garden Center

Azalea Painting

I call this page my Garden Center, but there is nothing here for sale. This page merely serves as a central point linking to educational pages I have created on various garden topics. I created these pages while I was learning web related skills that I teach to my students here at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in the Computer Systems Laboratory, especially for the web-based course I teach called Supercomputer Applications. Come back often, as I expect to be adding many more graphics in the months ahead as I experiment with new technologies.

Although professionally I have been a mathematics or computer science teacher for the past 32 years in Fairfax County Public Schools , I am really a plant person at heart. According to my late parents, I planted my first garden when I was only three years old, started collecting azaleas by age six, and was raising orchids on my window sill by age 10. I am still living in the family home surrounded by rhododendrons and azaleas that I planted many years ago. My early childhood interest in plants and nature preservation has never waned. See what you think.
